Sometimes,
even in the midst of the joys,
being an adoptive or foster mom is hard.

Moms tell me they're overwhelmed by their children's needs and often feel isolated. With 12 kids by birth and adoption, and a foster mom of more, I understand this so well. I recognize the hard and celebrate the beauty of adoption with you.

With honesty, faith, my training as a TBRI® Practitioner*, and as a certified Enneagram coach, I help you gain courage and renew the hope you once had so you can become the mom you're meant to be.

One Thankful Mom

Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work.

I'm also a certified Enneagram coach. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents and co-hosting my podcast, The Adoption Connection. Using my TBRI training, Enneagram knowledge, and decades of parenting experience, I coach and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

*TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
